Search for journal articles using MetaLib

The aim of MetaLib is to provide UB students and staff with seamless access to information resources through the AARLIN portal project. MetaLib will enable you to:

  • search up to fifteen databases and electronic resources simultaneously for online journal articles, newspaper articles, book chapters, conference papers, research reports, and more
  • receive results in a common format
  • link to individual databases for more specialised searching
  • select favorite resources and eJournals, save searches and records, and setup email alerts.

There are three ways of searching for journal articles using MetaLib:

  • QuickSearch
Offers preselected groups of databases; if you are unsure of the databases in your area this is the place to begin.

  • MetaSearch
Complete subject listing of databases; this option enables advanced searching, allowing you to select and search up to fifteen resources at a time. You will first need to select a subject area from the drop-down list to display the databases available in that subject area.

  • Find Resources
Complete listing of databases available in NaviGatePlus arranged by title, subject and database host.

Once in MetaLib, if you wish to save searches and set up alerts, you will be prompted to login. Youe MetaLib login details are the same as your UB Novell network username and password. You will also need to select Ballarat as your institution from the drop-down menu.
